The Titaneer Team got together to lend a helpful hand in their local community and a group of us went to volunteer at the Paz de Cristo Outreach Center in Mesa, AZ. It was a special day to be a part of, as Paz de Cristos put together boxes of food, including a turkey, for the holidays. Paz de Cristo has been feeding the hungry across the East Valley for over 22 years. It certainly is not an easy task to feed the hungry every day of the year, and it is a lot of work to continuously generate all of the financial and food donations.
At Paz de Cristo, all of the combined financial support or individuals, corporations, community-based groups, and foundations enable them to serve over 250 dinners each day, and provide over 1300 food boxes each month. It was a very special day being of a part of distributing food boxes, and being together as a team to give back to the local community. They have an excellent volunteer program with nearly a thousand volunteers each month from schools, businesses, civic groups and more who help fulfill their mission to feed the hungry. In Arizona, 13% of adults and 20% of children do not have regular access to food and are food insecure. In addition to meal and food box service, Paz de Cristo also serves as a community water station in the hot summer months.
